Keep Plastic Bags Out
Never place plastic grocery bags or trash bags in your blue or yellow recycling bins. If you collect your recyclables in a plastic bag inside your home, empty the loose contents into the bin and throw the bag in the regular garbage.
Styrofoam is Not Recyclable
Despite often having a recycling symbol, Styrofoam (foam egg cartons, cups, and packing materials) cannot be processed in Palm Beach County's recycling facilities. Always put these items in your Village-provided garbage cart.
Size Matters for Cardboard
You cannot simply leave whole, oversized cardboard boxes at the curb. To ensure they fit the yellow bin criteria and can be easily collected, all cardboard must be broken down, flattened, and cut to pieces no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet.
