General Rule
If a holiday falls on any of your scheduled pickup days, pickup will simply occur on your next scheduled collection day for that material type.
Yard Waste Exception
Vegetative waste and recycling collections may also be suspended or skipped if they align with a major municipal holiday or the threat of severe weather.

Paper and Plastics Don't Mix
Roselle requires residents to separate their recyclables. Bottles and cans are collected on your specific Ward day, while cardboard and paper are collected township-wide on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. Never mix them in the same container.
No Plastic Bags in Recycling
The Borough strictly forbids plastic bags in your bottles and cans collection. Keep your glass, aluminum, and plastics completely loose in the bin. Bagged recyclables will be left at the curb.
Alkaline is Trash, Lithium is Not
You can safely throw regular alkaline batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V) in your regular kitchen trash. However, rechargeable batteries and lithium-ion batteries are major fire hazards and must be dropped off at the Public Works yard, Roselle Library, or Borough Hall.
