Holiday Schedule

General Rule

If your scheduled pickup falls on an observed holiday, service is delayed by one day. All subsequent collection days that week will also be pushed back by one day (e.g., Thursday customers serviced Friday, Friday customers serviced Saturday).

Yard Waste Exception

All on-demand bulk or brush pickups scheduled during a holiday week will also be subject to the one-day delay.

Tiger Sanitation works all other holidays (including Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day). Put your carts out by 6:00 a.m. as usual on those days.

!Contamination Tips

Beware of Heavy Materials

Never place dirt, rocks, sand, concrete, or tile into your curbside trash cart. These incredibly heavy materials will exceed the cart's weight capacity, break the automated lifting arm on the truck, and result in a rejected pickup.

Keep the Lid Flat

Your hauler requires the lid of your 95-gallon cart to lie completely flat. An open or protruding lid creates a spill hazard during the automated lifting process. If you consistently have too much trash, call to rent a second cart.

No Batteries or Motor Oil

Car batteries, lithium-ion batteries, and motor oil are huge fire and environmental hazards. Do not hide them in your regular household trash. Take used oil to local auto parts stores and batteries to a county hazardous waste drop-off.

Seasonal Information

Spring

March - May

Spring cleaning often generates heavy debris. Remember that you cannot leave old furniture or loose brush piles at the curb expecting normal pickup. You must call Tiger Sanitation at 210-333-4287 at least two days in advance to schedule and pay for bulk removal.

Summer

June - August

The intense South Texas summer heat causes garbage to decompose rapidly. To minimize severe odors and prevent pest infestations, ensure all food waste is securely double-bagged before placing it in your outdoor cart.

Winter

December - February

Holiday scheduling is simple: Tiger Sanitation only takes off Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. If your regular collection falls on or after one of these three holidays, your service will be delayed by exactly one day that week.

About Timberwood Park Waste Management

Navigating Private Subscription Trash Services

Because Timberwood Park is an unincorporated master-planned community in Bexar County, it does not have a centralized municipal sanitation department. Instead, homeowners are responsible for setting up private subscription services for their household garbage and recycling. While residents have the freedom to choose their provider, Tiger Sanitation and Waste Management are the most prominent and widely used haulers in the neighborhood.

Tiger Sanitation Curbside Guidelines

For the majority of residents utilizing Tiger Sanitation, standard service includes one heavy-duty 95-gallon waste cart. To guarantee successful collection, your cart must be placed at the curb no later than 6:00 a.m. on your designated service day. A strict requirement enforced by the haulers is that the cart lid must close completely and lie flat; overflowing carts may be skipped or subject to an overage fee.

On-Demand Bulk Waste and Brush Removal

Unlike city-run programs that offer free quarterly bulk weeks, disposing of large items in Timberwood Park requires proactive planning. Items that exceed the weight or volume limits of your standard cart are classified as bulk waste. You must contact Tiger Sanitation or your specific hauler at least 48 hours in advance to schedule a special pickup. Individual bulky items must not exceed 50 pounds, and any brush must be tied and bundled in 4-foot lengths.

HOA Cart Storage Regulations

Maintaining the scenic, Hill Country aesthetic of Timberwood Park requires community cooperation. The Timberwood Park Property Owners Association (TPPOA) strictly requires that all trash and recycling carts be promptly removed from the curb by the evening of your collection day. Furthermore, carts must be stored out of public view from the street on non-collection days, typically tucked behind a fence, side gate, or inside the garage.

Proper Disposal of Hazardous Household Chemicals

Private sanitation trucks running routes through Timberwood Park are not legally equipped to handle hazardous waste. Liquid paint, motor oil, pool chemicals, and heavy construction debris like dirt and concrete are strictly prohibited in curbside carts. Residents must utilize designated Bexar County Environmental Services drop-off events or authorized commercial recycling centers to safely process these toxic materials.
